Whale Watching Field Trips

A perfect winter field trip at affordable group rates with classroom resources

We invite you and your students to join us on a unique and valuable marine field trip, highlighted by the presence of the majestic Pacific Gray Whale.

There is no place like San Diego to experience this remarkable annual migration. And there is no company more experienced in whale-watching field trips than H&M Landing.

By November, large pods of migrating Pacific Gray Whales will arrive off our coast enroute to the warm-water lagoons of Baja California, where they mate and bear their young.

A short boat ride into coastal waters provides the unique opportunity to witness nature in motion.

In addition to Gray Whales, trips may also encounter other whales including Humpback, Minki, Sei, Fin and possibly Orcas! Dolphins, sea lions, harbor seals, and many species of pelagic birds, including pelicans, terns, petrels, herons, egrets, cormorants and gulls are seen each trip.

At the end of the day, your students will see San Diego, the bay and the ocean with different eyes and will take home a new sense of place.
